New Teachers @ Smyrna Mission School

We are so blessed to have the following teachers who joined our team of teachers.

Ruwantha Jayasundara is our music teacher and he comes twice a week to teach music to our mission school children.  He is a full time worship leader/pastor at Assemblies of God Church and we are happy that he could find time in his busy schedule to teach our children.  Children really enjoy music and look forward to the class. We plan to form a choir and get children who are interested to learn to play an instrument.

Mrs.Vasanthi David is our new Pre-School teacher and came to us with so much of experience in teaching.  She has been an English teacher at several government schools and was running a  pre-school and a day care center before she joined Smyrna.  She's helping us create an English speaking atmosphere and shares her experiences with the mission school teachers as well.  She's energetic, young at heart and such a joy to work with.

Miss.Krishanthi is our new Mission School teacher.  She was in the pre-school as an assistant teacher and now she is in the mission school.  She teaches the youngest group of kids in the mission school and her target is to train them up to go to a government school for grade 2 in 2014.  She has taken up the challenge well and works hard at it.  She's cheerful and full of enthusiasm and loves working with children and fruit salad, of course.  :)

We thank God for these teachers and for our sponsors.  God is doing great things in the mountains of Sri Lanka!

With a grateful heart,

Ruth Herath.
