Smyrna Mission Schools

Today we had our Children's day celebrations at the school in Nuwara Eliya. All the children were gathered at the school hall which was decorated with flowers, balloons etc. Teachers and guests were welcomed with flowers by the children. The children were welcomed by the teachers and each child was given a garland.

After that the children gave beetle leaves and bowed down to show their respect to the teachers. It's a traditional way in Sri Lanka to show respect to teachers, parents, etc. After that the children sang a good morning song to the teachers and prayed for the teachers. The children participated in musical chairs, flag race and passing the ball.

The children were so happy to meet Margit Stefansson at this celebration. Then the children were served cakes, biscuits, marshmallows and cup of  Milo. The children went home after enjoying the day.
